The weeks since my previous post have flown by like a whirlwind! I've been busy painting the bath/wash room, TV-room and part of the staircase. I can't say the reno is completed; a few things are left to be done. The reno has kept me away from sewing and I have enjoyed the break from sewing and doing something else! The Christmas Quilt top is done, that's all the sewing I've done lately.

HAPPY SEPTEMBER! How come it's September already? That means we are heading towards summer (this side of the globe) AND Christmas!

Thank you everyone for your comments on my previous post! I intended to make a few more blocks, but that did not happen. Instead I've made some mug rugs, but that is for another post.

As mentioned earlier, I worked on UFO's during the lock-down.

APQ's UFO Challenge 2020 - April Finish from Grandma's Red Needle

As I have mentioned earlier, I focused on UFO's during the lock-down. No I-net, dead computer and stuck inside, quilting kept me sane. Thank goodness the sewing machine didn't act up! I didn't feel for taking photos after a quilt was finished and now I have lots to catch up.

APQ's UFO Challenge 2020 - June Finish from Grandma's Red Needle

It's already Tuesday afternoon and a week since my previous post where I posted a sneak peek of a UFO I worked on during the lock-down.

This is Quiltsy Team's and APQ's UFO Challenge 2020; #11 - June challenge. (My UFO list #16) Twin size quilt. Finished August 6, 2020.

To create this quilt, I have pieced together 1.5 inch squares to 36-patch and 9-patch blocks. Each block measuring 6 inch square.

I don't remember exactly when I started cutting and piecing these blocks, it may be back in 2018 or earlier. Madness? Maybe! LOL One ...

I hope you all had a great weekend.

Yesterday (Sunday) was cloudy and gloomy (not better today!), rain in the morning. I didn't go outside the house, except on the porch. Last week came and went. I spent a couple of days cleaning the bedroom. Went through the wardrobe and removed clothes I haven't worn for years. Most of it goes to charity.

APQ & QUILTSY Team's UFO Challenge for March 2020 is #7,

....and mine is FINISHED!

It was an easy finish, so to say; the top was already done and I had the backing fabric and batting. I finished it the first week this month, but didn't get around to take photos until a couple of days ago. Lots of rain and gloomy days lately, not the best weather for photographing.

APQ UFO Challenge March and February Finish from Grandma's Red Needle

It's March already, and another UFO to finish.

APQ UFO Challenge this month, is #7. For me, that means 'Log Cabin #3' (Updated UFO list; #18). GEEZ! Looks like I can't make anything else than log cabin quilts! LOL Seriously, I love log cabin quilts! The more scrappy, the better! Such a great way to use up some of the 1.5 inch fabric strips I've been cutting and hording for some years.

Scrappy Log Cabin Under the Needle from Grandma's Red Needle

If you read my previous post, you know I - at that time - have a flimsy.

Monday this week, I received the batting and backing for this quilt and since then it has kept me super busy!

I took this photo two days back and last night I finished the quilting! Phew!

There are some thread tails to be taken care of before I add the binding.

Clear sky this morning and no rain during the night, which means it's time for some gardening / yard work today.

It's February! That means another UFO to finish!

APQ UFO Challenge for this month, is #9. For me, that means 'Log Cabin Blocks #2'.

There are so many possible patterns for a log cabin quilt, difficult to choose. I had to decide, and ended up with this:

APQ and Quiltsy Team UFO Challenge 2020 from Grandma's Red Needle

January is the month to start finishing all those UFO's that have accumulated through last year (and years before!). I have already made my UFO list, but since I've joined the APQ as well as the Quiltsy Team on Etsy for the 2020 UFO CHALLENGE, I had to pick 12 out of the 18 UFO's I've already listed.
